Terms of Service

To access certain features of Alvin TX Directory, you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You may not create an account on behalf of someone else without their permission. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or remain inactive for an extended period. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

Business listings on Alvin TX Directory are available to businesses physically located in or serving the Alvin, Texas area. By claiming a business listing, you represent that you are an authorized representative of that business. You are responsible for the accuracy of all information in your listing, including business name, address, phone number, hours, services, and description. We reserve the right to verify business ownership, edit listings for accuracy, or remove listings that contain false information, violate these terms, or are for illegal businesses or services. Free-tier listings are visible only in your dashboard. Public directory visibility requires a paid subscription.

Paid subscriptions (Premium at $19/month, Business+ at $49/month) are billed monthly through Stripe. Payment is collected at the time of subscription. Subscriptions auto-renew each billing cycle until cancelled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through the billing portal — your listing remains active through the end of your paid period, then reverts to the free tier. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial billing periods. Prices may change with 30 days written notice. Annual promotional pricing (such as launch year specials) is subject to the terms stated at the time of purchase.

Free-tier users may activate a one-time 14-day premium feature trial at no cost. The trial provides access to select premium features (photo gallery, analytics, verified badge, review responses) but does not include public listing visibility or SEO backlinks. Your listing remains private during the trial. The trial cannot be restarted or extended. No payment information is required to start a trial.

Event vendor listings are a one-time $10 payment per event, processed through Stripe. Payment is required before your vendor listing goes live on the event page. Vendor listings are tied to a specific event and are not transferable to other events. We do not offer refunds for vendor listings once payment is processed, including if the event is cancelled by the organizer. Vendor listing information (name, description, booth number, contact info, tags) is publicly displayed on the event page. We reserve the right to remove vendor listings that contain false or misleading information.

You retain ownership of content you submit to Alvin TX Directory, including reviews, recommendations, event posts, and business descriptions. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and use that content in connection with the platform. You are solely responsible for the content you submit. Content must be truthful, not defamatory, not infringing on third-party rights, and not illegal. We reserve the right to remove any content at our discretion, including reviews, event posts, and group listings that violate these terms or community guidelines. Fake reviews, paid reviews not disclosed as such, and reviews by business owners on their own listing are prohibited.

Community events and networking groups must be submitted by approved community leaders or admins and are subject to approval before publication. Event and group information must be accurate. We are not responsible for the accuracy of third-party event details, cancellations, or changes. Business recommendations represent individual user opinions and are not endorsements by Alvin TX Directory. Community leaders who repeatedly post inaccurate or misleading content may have their community leader status revoked.

You agree not to: (a) use the platform for any unlawful purpose; (b) submit false or misleading business information; (c) impersonate another person or business; (d) attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or platform systems; (e) use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the platform; (f) interfere with the platform's operation or security; (g) post spam, solicitations, or malware; (h) harass other users through reviews, messages, or other platform features; (i) create multiple accounts to circumvent rate limits, bans, or trial restrictions.

The platform design, code, logos, and branding of Alvin TX Directory are owned by Araptus and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform. Business listing content (descriptions, photos, reviews) is owned by the respective submitters as described in the User-Generated Content section.

Alvin TX Directory is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that business listings are accurate, that businesses are licensed or insured, or that services will meet your expectations. We are not liable for any transactions, disputes, or interactions between users and listed businesses. Under no circumstances will Alvin TX Directory or Araptus be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or at our discretion with reasonable notice. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your business listing will be removed from the public directory. Data deletion requests will be processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Active paid subscriptions will not be refunded upon termination for terms violations.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users or through a notice on the platform. Continued use of Alvin TX Directory after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you disagree with the changes, you should stop using the platform and contact us to delete your account.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Alvin TX Directory shall be resolved in the courts of Brazoria County, Texas. You agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting us before filing any legal action.
